Meet Jacqui and her boys…. She recently contacted us for one of our Mother’s Day shoots. These cheeky and adorable kids kept me on my toes and laughing throughout the session.
After the shoot we chatted all things COVID from working from home to homeschooling. It certainly was a new world at the time, and we were learning to adjust.
I knew these guys had been impacted by COVID-19 directly, I decided to let them know about “this project” I was working on and asked if they would be interested being a part of it. (At this stage I hadn’t shared it with many people)

The unique part of this time right now is, that it is certainly different for everyone and we are all going through it together!

How would you describe what is happening right now in these COVID-19 times?
Very surreal. This is certainly something we never would have thought would happen in our lifetime. But in saying that, it has also been an opportunity for us all to slow down from our crazy busy lives. It has also provided an opportunity for our earth and environment to heal.

How has this affected your family?
Unfortunately, this has hit our family quite hard. My father and mother in law were both diagnosed with COVID-19, and unfortunately my father in law, Des, passed away from the virus.

What is one thing that has surprised you about this event:
positively or negatively?

I am very surprised with how well our country has banded together and listened to what our political leaders are saying and staying home and self isolating. Because of this, our country is doing so much better than a lot of other countries, and we are flattening our curve a lot quicker, because Australia is doing the right thing.

What is one thing you will always remember about this time?
How it makes us appreciate things more. For example, a hand shake, a hug, going to the movies, or out to dinner, or even going to friends houses for a catch up.

What do you think is really important right now?
Listening to our political leaders and taking their advice and doing what is right for our country.

What have you done to stay in touch with others?
Zoom!! Zoom our friends. But we have also created a few group chats on Facebook to catch up with everyone who is on there as well.

What is one thing that you miss right now?
Not being able to just get in the car and go for a random drive. Whether that be to the coast, Brisbane, or even motorbike riding with my family.

What have you been doing to keep yourself and your family busy?
We have been finding jobs to do around the house that we haven’t had a chance to do because of our busy lives. We have painted half of our front fence, and have done more gardening.

Does this scare you?
It did at first. At one stage, I did lay awake at night worried about how/what could happen. But after seeing how well our country has responded in such a short period of time, it doesn’t worry me any more.

What is one good thing that you hope will happen after this is all over? That we will continue to be cautious with our hygiene, and continue to practice self distancing, and washing our hands regularly.

What is the first thing you are going to do when it is all over?
Go shopping!!!!
